SHILLONG: He left the flourishing career of a Chartered Accountant and went on to be a motivational speaker, 40-year-old, Anish Baheti from Rajasthan but living in Gujarat started from Ahmedabad on a bike trip on February 2 this month.
He told The Shillong Times that he left his job in search of a purpose in life and took on the role of a motivational speaker.
“I want to inspire people through my travel and work”. He also lived in Australia for a while.
He arrived in Meghalaya on Wednesday and has covered Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur.
He will travel to Burma and from there he will take the route to Northern Thailand and come back to Manipur and will enter Tripura and Bangladesh and from there visit West Bengal. All this was a bike trip.
In Meghalaya which is not his first time, he visited Dawki and Shillong Peak and also explored the local market. About his Mawlynnong experience, he said, “It is clean and peaceful”.
He travelled 27 countries solo so far. He undertook the first trip last year where he toured 10, 000 kms to 8 states, 77 towns in South India in 50 days.
He journeyed 9 countries in 29 days on December last year by flight and visited South East Asian countries.
Asked, why he left a flourishing CA career, he said, “I was unhappy with my job and I wanted to do something. I love to inspire people and help them find a purpose in life”.
Baheti undertook the path of a traveler for self-introspection and said that travel helps a lot of people do a lot of self-analysis and self-development.
There are many memorable incidents and said he crossed snow covered mountains and roads were also challenging.
“It is all about being in the moment”, he said.
He intends to promote healthy lifestyle and hence he lives the no alcohol, no cigarettes mantra and also swears by safe riding.
