SHILLONG: A six-wicket haul by Vandana Mahajan set up an easy run chase for Meghalaya against Jammu & Kashmir in the Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy in Puducherry on Friday.

Meghalaya ripped through J&K batting line-up after electing to field first, bowling out the opposition for just 29. They then chased down the target for the loss of two wickets.

A day after beating Bihar, Meghalaya only had around two hours of cricket on Friday and Mahajan led the way with figures of 6/5. She started right from the first over of the morning by claiming two wickets and then dismissed another four for a fantastic haul.

All the other three bowlers used by Meghalaya also captured wickets, with Debasmita Dutta taking 2/8, Riticia Nongbet 1/7 and Pinky Chanda 1/7 and J&K were all out for 29 in 17.3 overs.

Two wickets did fall in the chase, but Saee Purandare (13 not out) and Mahajan (9 not out) saw the team to 30/2 in 13.2 overs.
