Shops burgled in city

SHILLONG: Three shops in the city were robbed in the wee hours of Friday.
Burglars broke into a shop, Bijoy Tara, at Bawri Complex at Luckier Road and two at Nongsohphoh, Naspatigari belonging to Neena Rymbai and Sunita Kanwar. It was reported that cigarettes, gutkha and money were stolen from the shops.
Unidentified burglars entered the shops after breaking the locks between 2 am and 4am. The heist is suspected to be the handiwork of drug addicts. Police are investigating the matter.
