SHILLONG: The Coordination Committee on International Border (CCIB) has condemned the Ichamati violence and said that the attack meted out to the organisations that were holding the CAA and ILP public meeting was unacceptable.
In a statement issued here, CCIB said that the non-tribals should understand that the Hynniewtrep people will protect their land. The CCIB also urged all the traditional heads including headmen, nokmas, waheh shnongs and all community elders to check the entry of outsiders to their villages.
CCIB has also expressed condolence to the members of deceased Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) member Lurshai Hynniewta and wished speedy recovery to those injured in the clash.
