Meet in SGH stresses on measures to fight COVID-19

TURA: In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 all over the world and as a precautionary measure to prevent the same in South Garo Hills District, a preliminary meeting was held today at District Resource Center under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of District Task Force, H B Marak.  

During the meeting, Marak informed that all possible precautionary steps have to be taken as the District shares the extreme international border with the neighboring country Bangladesh and urged the Medical department to do Screening in all the designated place. He also said that 24×7 Helpline number +91-11-23978046 has also been activated for any kind of queries with regards to COVID-19.  District Surveillance Officer Dr Jacob Broney R Marak presented the overall scenario of the rapidly growing COVID-19 all over the world and asked the District to remain fully prepared for any kind of emergencies that may arise in due course of time. He also mentioned effective strategies to deal with the pandemic and said that Advisory on certain Do’s and don’ts on the COVID-19 will be followed from their Department shortly to the entire District of South Garo Hills.
