SHILLONG: Governor Tathagata Roy on Saturday revoked the administrator’s rule in KHADC and fixed the election of CEM on March 24.
The governor convened the special meeting of the KHADC on March 24 for taking up the no-confidence motion against the present Executive Committee in the KHADC.
“The chairman will ensure that video recording of the entire proceedings of the no-confidence motion is duly done and forwarded to the governor through the District Council Affairs Department,” the notification said.
Earlier, the Meghalaya High Court had stayed the election to the post of chairman and chief executive member (CEM) following a petition filed KHADC chairman, PN Syiem.
When contacted, Syiem said he will examine the order of the governor for the election of the CEM on Monday and act accordingly.
