SHILLONG: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU) under Dangar (Balat) Regional Unit, East Khasi Hills, has urged the state government to extend assistance to the residents of Mawsynram.
In a statement issued on Friday, the GSU said daily wage earners from remote areas are posing uncountable constraints to feed their families.
The students’ body urged the local MLA/MDC and District Administration to look into the matter. “The government should release the relief, rehabilitation emergency funds for the underprivileged residents,” the GSU said.
