Washington: Washington state Governor Jay Inslee announced a month-long extension of his “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” emergency order till May 4 to contain the spread of COVID-19. The order bans all gatherings and temporarily shutters non-essential businesses, Xinhua news agency reported.
The state’s Department of Commerce is providing guidance and assistance to businesses on whether they can be considered essential.
“Epidemiological modelling from the University of Washington predicts we will have at least 1,400 deaths this year,” Inslee said on Thursday.
According to the order, residents should stay at home unless going out for essential tasks. (IANS)
