New locations for selling essentials in EJH

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District has said that essential commodities will be sold at two new locations.
“Two new locations have been identified for selling essential commodities which will be open on Friday from 10 am to 2 pm. These locations include Sohkymphor Pohmission at Sohkymphor village and Lad Lakadong at Lakadong village,” the DC said in a statement on Monday.
The DC has also asked the neighbouring villages to provide VDP/youth volunteers for services to ensure that “there is no panic and pandemonium during the relaxed period, vehicles are not allowed near the above locations and only one person from each household shall be allowed to come out for shopping”.
The DC has also asked the vendors to not sell beyond the normal market price with additional Rs 1 as transportation cost.
The DC has also exhorted the general public to maintain all social distancing norms laid down by the government.
Officers on duty
Meanwhile, the DC has listed out the names of the two officers who have been assigned to ensure strict compliance of social distancing and proper monitoring of sellers and buyers at two new identified locations. The officers include E Enleng, Superintendent of Taxes, EJH, and H Kharbuki, Superintendent of Fisheries, EJH.
While the former has been assigned to monitor the situation at Sohkymphor Pohmission the latter has been assigned for the task at Lakadong.
The officers will also be assisted by two subordinate officers.
