SHILLONG: Dalmia Bharat Group and Hewlett Packard (HP) have established a Common Service Lab (CSL) in the state, which is being used by the state government in capacity building of frontline health workers.
The Group has also reached out to over 500 households in the adjacent villages of the state and Assam, and has distributed essential food items, disinfectants and hand washes. The group has also generated awareness among the community on COVID-19 precautions.
“The plant heads at various locations in the region are also reaching out to communities on a regular basis and providing them all help including food and medicines,” a statement from Dalmia Bharat Group said.
The group has also provided necessary material to the self-help group members and silai school trainees to manufacture masks and provide the same to the needy.
“We have trained 20 women and provided stitching machines in a ‘Silai School’ programme with the technical support of USHA international Ltd in Jagiroad,” the statement said.
It may be mentioned that the Group has also committed 25 crore to PM-CARES Fund.
“Also, 4700 employees of the Group have voluntarily dedicated their one day’s salary — collectively amounting to Rs 1.6 crore — to the PM-CARES Fund to fight this pandemic that has crippled most of the major economies across the world,” the statement said.
