SHILLONG: The Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Mairang Civil Sub-Division, has written to all Sordars falling under Mairang Civil Sub-Division, West Khasi Hills, asking them not to ostracise any labourer stranded in Shillong or elsewhere.
The SDO, A Nongbri, said that some Sordars have directed the labourers, who are residents of their respective villages and stranded in Shillong and other villages, to come back to their hometown or face ostracisation.
Nongbri maintained that the action of the Sordar is wrong and illegal.
He also reminded them that the car pass issued to them is strictly for emergency situations relating patients. Nongbri strictly warned against misuse of car pass to pick up people from other places.
