Tura Civil Hospital to be made COVID-19 care centre

TURA: Tura Civil Hospital has been prepared to focus its treatment on persons infected with the highly contagious COVID-19  with effect from April 20.

According to the Joint Director of Health Services, Garo Hills Division and Superintendent, Tura Civil Hospital, the hospital has been prepared to function as a full- fledged “dedicated hospital” for focused treatment of persons infected with the virus, as per the instructions issued by the government.

The official added that all the remaining patients admitted in the hospital will be discharged and shifted to private hospitals with the advice from the treating doctors for continued treatment so that necessary arrangement of hospital’s rooms/wards can be made by the authority for treatment of any suspect and infected cases of COVID-19.

Further as per the notification, all the Medico Legal cases will now be treated at Police Hospital, Tura Bazar while all General and Emergency patients will now be attended to and treated at Tura Christian Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital, Tura.
