GUWAHATI: Two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya and both of them are family member of the first COVID-19 patient in the state, a doctor in Bethany Hospital, who died on Wednesday morning. It was informed by state Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in his twitter handle on late Thursday night.

Earlier, six other family members of the deceased doctor were found COVID-19 positive. Nine persons in the state have tested positive for COVID-19 infection so far including the doctor who has died.

Meghalaya authorities have collected 552 samples so far for test. The state has only one ICMR accredited  laboratory at NEIGRIHMS  for testing  COVID-19 samples. The state has taken help of neighbouring  Assam, which has five accredited laboratories,  for testing samples
