SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has deferred the hearing on handling of coronavirus in the state by the government, to April 25.
During the hearing on the matter on Tuesday through videoconferencing, the court said since the petitioner, High Court of Meghalaya Bar Association, has not placed any concrete materials to decide on the defects in managing the pandemic, the association can air its suggestions and grievances to the Advocate General for the consideration of the government.
Earlier, senior counsel, SP Mahanta and advocate K Paul brought up the issue of health insurance for frontline workers, availability and quality of PPE and the manner in which the district administration is issuing curfew order which, according to them, is not satisfactory.
