Lucknow, April 21 (IANS) Senior Uttar Pradesh officials on Tuesday paid homage to late Anand Singh Bisht, the father of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, by observing two-minute silence before the morning meeting began at the CMs residence.

UP Chief Secretary R.K. Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Avanish Awasthi, DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi and other senior officials were present for the daily meeting of the Team 11, set up to fight the coronavirus pandemic, when they observed silence as homage to the departed soul.

Yogi Adityanath was also present on the occasion.

Anand Singh Bisht had passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness in Delhi and his mortal remains were consigned to flames at his native village in Uttarakhand on Tuesday morning.

The Chief Minister did not attend his father’s cremation due to the lockdown and had informed his mother in an emotional letter that he would visit the family after the lockdown was lifted.
