Rice, pulses distributed to beneficiaries

SHILLONG: The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed that for April the quota of NFSA and non-NFSA has been distributed fully to 70,198 Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households covering 2,90,989 beneficiaries at Rs 3 per kg of 35 kg rice per household and to 3,51,305 Priority House Hold (PHH) households with 18,54,156 beneficiaries 5kg of rice per beneficiary at Rs 3 per Kg.
The statement further said that 1,33,861 households covering a population of 7,72,694 are covered under non-NFSA and are getting an allocation of approximately 7.215 kg per household at Rs.12 to Rs. 14 (rate fixed by Deputy Commissioners) per kg for rice .
Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) – the above AAY and priority household beneficiaries apart from their PDS NFSA quota are also getting 5 kg rice free of cost for April. They will also get the PMGKAY free ration for May and June.
Additionally, all AAY and PHH households will get 1 kg of pulses for April, May and June free of cost. It is reiterated again that this is 1kg per household. The non-NFSA card holders are not covered under the scheme and are covered by other social security schemes like Open Market Sale Scheme which is providing rice at reasonable market prices of Rs. 29-30 per kg.
