Bengali group urges CM to provide PPE to workers

SHILLONG: Members of the Shillong Bengali Association have urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to distribute PPE kits to frontline COVID-19 workers in the city.
The association placed the request during their recent meeting with the chief minister at his chamber.
Members of the association also met Health Minister AL Hek and donated the PPE suits.
The association has also handed over PPE kits to Jayanta Malakar, general secretary of Greater Shillong Crematorium and Mortuary Society to be used by the mortuary staff.
The association has been regularly providing meals to migrant labourers stranded in the city. It has also been providing tea, snacks and water to on duty police personnel, para-military forces and civic workers.
