Naga students’ body thanks govt for support in crisis

SHILLONG: The president of Naga Students’ Union, Shillong (NSUS), TP Dining has expressed gratitude to those who have helped the Naga students in Shillong who are stranded here.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Dining thanked Food and Civil Supplies Minister, James Sangma, for his assistance towards the Naga student community stationed in Shillong amid nationwide lockdown on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Naga Students Union, Shillong, which is also concerned about the welfare of students from Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, after receiving distress calls from the students stranded in Shillong, has approached the office of Sangma and reached out to the Naga students in the city.
Sangma has provided 100 bags of rice besides other items as an interim aid at this time of crisis.
The union also thanked the Khasi Students Union for the support and has shown its willingness to assist whenever the need arises.
The NSUS has also assured to support those who are in need of help.
