DC’s direction to FPS dealers

TURA: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), South West Garo Hills, in an order issued recently, has directed all wholesalers and Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers in the district to maintain Stock Register and Sales Register on the distribution of NFSA rice, non-NFSA rice, PMGKAY rice and pulses regularly without fail.
Further, as per the direction of the Director, FCS&CA, Meghalaya, all government approved wholesalers and fair price shop dealers have been directed to form a WhatsApp group at their level for daily report of the distribution of NFSA foodgrains as well as PMGKAY foodgrains and pulses, failing which strict action would be taken in accordance with the law.
In a separate order, the DC (Supply) has also directed both wholesalers/government approved nominees and retail stores to display the price of Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS) rice, as per the price fixed by district Supply department, and other essential commodities at the point of purchase on a signboard.
As per the guidelines, the scale of issue under OMSS will be 5 kg per beneficiary for two months, i.e, 10 kg for each beneficiary out of the allotment at the retail level at a retail price.
