NONGPOH: In a surprise raid conducted by the youths of Nongpoh Proper, several packets of illicit local liquor were recovered from a jungle near the NH-6. However, the owner of the illicit liquor had already fled from the spot and could not be ascertained.
The Dorbar Shnong of Nongpoh Proper was also present during the raid. The seized illicit liquor was later disposed of by the youths.
The youths warned people involved to immediately stop the selling of illicit liquor.
“We will continue to conduct surprise raids from time to time and if anyone is found involved strict actions shall be taken against them,” the youths said.
