East Jaintia Hills to reopen weighbridges

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills, in a statement, has informed the general public that in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the state government, operation of weighbridges will be permitted in East Jaintia Hills to facilitate the checking of loaded vehicles.
The Transport department will notify those weighbridges which will be allowed to open and also regulate the schedule and timing of operations while asking for strict adherence to protocols as prescribed by the Centre.
They will also have to maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness and cooperate with the district administration and police. All village authorities are requested to adhere to the Health department advisories and follow social distancing protocols.
