Youth body in SWKH donates essentials

Mawkyrwat: The Mawkyrwat Youth Development Association (MYDA) on Friday donated 25 kg rice and one kg lentils to 16 families from different villages in Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills.
The association also donated rice and lentils to two families in Mawlangwir, eight in Jakrem, one in Mawten, one in Nonglang, one in Mawkyrwat and one in Umjarain village.
The secretary of MYDA, Elevenson Wanniang, said that there are many other such families in Mawkyrwat area, but the association, which was formed by a group of youths from Mawkyrwat area, cannot help them all and had to pick those that needed aid.
Wanniang said the association is also in touch with people of different villages to find out those who need immediate help.
