West Khasi Hills eases curbs

NONGSTOIN: The Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills has informed that certain activities will be permitted in the district untill further orders.
The activities include shops, e-commerce operators dealing in essential goods, courier services, and common service centres.
Services provided by self-employed persons like electrician, IT repairs, plumbers, motor mechanics and carpenters, shops for repair of trucks on highways, liquor, stand-alone automobile repair shops, mobile car repairing service, home-delivery of books, shops that sell, repair and service mobile phones, computers, accessories including mobile phones recharging centres are also permitted.
All agriculture and allied sectors activities including operation of tea industry are also permitted to operate besides MNREGA works and industrial projects.
Cement plants have been instructed to operate at 50 per cent capacity.
Transport will function as per earlier order even as persons above 65 years and those with co-morbidities have been advised to work from home.
