4 more test COVID-19 positive in Assam, tally up to 95

GUWAHATI: Four more persons have tested positive in Assam for COVID-19 including two from Guwahati, one each from Sonitpur and Sivasagar districts.

One of the detection happened at Kalapahar quarantine centre in Guwahati while other person in Guwahati hails from Fatasil Ambari. Both of them were admitted to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH).

The patient from Sonitpur district was admitted to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH). The patient from Sivasagar was detected in Jorhat Quarantine Centre.

With these new detection total COVID-19 positive cases in Assam has gone up to 95 including 50 active cases undergoing treatment in hospitals. Forty-one persons have recovered while two died.  Two patients have migrated to Bihar and West Bengal respectively.

“In view of developing situation, I urge elderly (65+) and children below 10 to strictly stay inside, unless very important,” tweeted State Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
