Bethany Hospital in Shillong disinfected, set to resume services

SHILLONG: The entire building of Bethany Hospital has been sanitised and disinfected on Sunday as per the state government’s directive, according to Quality Manager, Nodal Officer and Spokesperson of Bethany Hospital, Dr. Kyntiewlang Sanmiet.

In a statement issued here, he said that disinfection of entire hospital building had started  under the purview of Directorate of Health Services based on the Hospital Infection Prevention & Control guidelines by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

He further informed that once disinfection was done, a thorough clean-up will follow as per the said guidelines.

He has expressed gratitude to the Commissioner and Secretary of Health Department, Sampath Kumar and Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War for helping us in this process.

“We look forward to restoring our fabric of care and feel more determined than ever to serve our patients with Compassion, Care and Commitment”, Sanmiet said.

It may be mentioned that the Bethany Hospital was in the spotlight after COVID-19 claimed its first victim in the form of  a senior doctor in the hospital.
