Man kills toddler

JOWAI: In a shocking incident, one person identified as Wanpyntngen Langshiang, (23) reportedly murdered his one and a half year toddler.
West Jaintia Hills police said that the incident happened in Amlanai village, under Elaka Satpator, Amlarem on May 14.
A complaint was lodged the following day at Muktapur police outpost by a villager who also named the father as the culprit.
Witnesses from the village who came forward also testified before the police that the man had beaten the toddler to death and that he was in an inebriated condition before the incident happened.
The accused also admitted to physically assaulting the toddler.
A case was registered under Section 302 of IPC at Dawki police station.
The body of the toddler is kept at the Ialong Civil Hospital for post mortem.
One kills self
In a separate incident, a 32 year-old-man hanged himself at his residence while his wife and three children were away at a relative’s house on May 14.
The body was found hanging the following day by the family members.
The incident happened in Hawai Sutnga village, Muktapur under Dawki police station.
