CPI denied permission to hold protest meet

SHILLONG: The Communist Party of India (CPI), state unit, was on Monday denied permission to hold a meeting at its office here to protest against the Centre for its indifference towards migrant workers and the needy in the time of coronavirus.
The party, in a statement issued here on Tuesday, said that they had sought permission through proper channel, however it was denied permission on grounds that the application was not proper.
