Freak gunshot injures woman

SHILLONG: In a freak incident in Ronggopgre Songma village, a man accidentally fired a shot from his country-made gun while repairing it hitting his wife in the right thigh, a report said.
The wife was then taken to PHC Rari from where she was referred to Tura Civil Hospital, the report added.
Kraibath N Marak (30), resident of the village in North Garo Hills, was in possession of an unlicensed gun.
Police seized the gun and the matter is under investigation, the report added.
