FIR over attempt to kidnap woman in Gurugram

Gurugram, : The Gurugram Police have registered an FIR against a house owner for allegedly attempting to kidnap an woman in the up-scale locality of sector 29.

The victim, who studied in Harvard university, had opened a startup. “The woman had returned from Harvard University some 5 months ago and taken a building in sector 29 to start business with two partners. She had some conflict with the house owner over the rent,” said ACP (crime) Preet Pal Singh Sangwan.

She alleged that the house owner misbehaved with her, touched her inappropriately and tried to kidnapped her in his car.

The victim was unable to pay rent due to the lockdown. She wanted the house owner to exempt the rent as various governments had announced that relief be given to renters.

Sangwan said an FIR under IPC sections of 354, 356 and 511 had been registered at DLF sector 29 police station.

“We have started the investigation and collected the CCTV footage of the area to verify her claims. We have also asked the accused to join the probe,” Sangwan said.
