Pyniaid set to be KHADC chairman

SHILLONG: NPP MDC from Sohryngkham Pyniaid Sing Syiem is all set to be elected unopposed as the new chairman of KHADC, since he is the lone candidate for the post.
He filed his nomination on Tuesday.
Pyniaid expressed his gratitude to all the 20 MDCs of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for unanimously deciding to nominate him as the chairman.
The election was necessitated following the resignation of PN Syiem.
The formal announcement of result will be made on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the opposition United Democratic Forum (UDF) has decided not to field any candidate for the post.
