Legal assistance to people
MAWKYRWAT: The office of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), South West Khasi Hills, has announced for provision of legal assistance through legal services to the people who have been affected amid the pandemic. “In order to assist the people in seeking relief, a help desk which was set up in front of the District & Session Court, Mawkyrwat, would also function to provide legal advice or assistance to needy in which the para legal volunteers at the help desk would provide legal advice or assistance in facilitating the process for those affected,” the statement said, adding that people requiring legal assistance can also contact on the helpline number, 99546-59516.
Donation to CM’s Relief Fund
SHILLONG: The teachers’ association under the umbrella wing of the Meghalaya Upper Primary Schools Teacher’s Association and Ri-Khasi Free Morning School has extended a helping hand by contributing a sum of 1,50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The teachers’ association was led by MUPSTA president Kenneth Shadap as well as the proprietor of Ri-Khasi Free Morning Upper Primary School based in Nongstoin. The teacher’s association under the umbrella of Meghalaya Upper Primary Schools Teachers’ Association donated an amount of Rs 1 lakh and the Ri-Khasi Free Morning Upper Primary School through the Managing Committee donated Rs 50,000, respectively, informed Shadap.
