Days earmarked for plying of vehicles

SHILLONG: The transport department has informed that while Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be for odd numbers of vehicles to ply across the state, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday will be for even numbers. A notification by the department said that 50 per cent of both public and private vehicles will operate on both the days.
On Sunday, only private vehicles (both odd and even) will be allowed.
Capacity
Buses can carry only 50 per cent of the total capacity of passengers while SUV including Sumo and Maxi Cab can carry four persons excluding the driver.
Light motor vehicles can carry two persons excluding the driver while auto rickshaw can carry only one person excluding the driver.
A two wheeler can accommodate only one female pillion rider or a child below 12 years of age.
