SHILLONG: Meghalaya Assembly Speaker and Mairang MLA Metbah Lyngdoh, along with the Public Work Department (PWD) officials and durbar headmen, inspected several ongoing road projects in his constituency on Thursday.
Lyngdoh inspected road projects at Nongkhla, Umdingkhied, Umpdem, Sohdedeit, Nongrangha Pyrda, Nonglyput, Nongmynsain and others.
The MLA said he wanted all villages in his constituency to have blacktopped roads.
On pending projects, he said the PWD assured him that the work would be completed by September.
For decades, the villages did not have proper roads and “people should appreciate the hard work of the MLA” to initiate the projects, the headmen said.
