2nd COVID-19 positive patient dies in Hailakandi; state’s death toll 7

GUWAHATI: One COVID-19 positive patient from Hailakandi district of South Assam  died in Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SNCH) on Friday morning , taking the death toll to two in the South Assam’s district.  The state’s death toll m has increased to seven.

Health authorities here disclosed that one Mangoli Rani Das, 53, a resident of Bakrihower Part I under Algapur revenue circle died at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) on Friday morning.

A cancer patient, her son Jhintu Das is also undergoing treatment at SMCH. The deceased had gone to Delhi for treatment along with her son and were under home quarantine. As soon as their swab samples tested positive on June 6, the district administration declared Bakrihower Part I as containment zone.

Another COVID-19 positive patient named Foijul Haque Barbhuiya, 65, of Borjurai village under Hailakandi revenue circle died at SMCH on April 10 last. He had attended the Markaz event at Nizamuddin in Delhi.
