Fishing at Wah Umngot prohibited

SHILLONG: The Dolloi of Elaka Darrang in West Jaintia Hills has imposed a ban on fishing and sight-seeing at Wah Umngot.
In a statement issued here, the Dolloi said the order was issued as a measure to restrict the entry of outsiders to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the area.
The Dolloi said people have to obtain necessary permission from the traditional heads before entering the area.
