Municipal staff to get pending salary

SHILLONG: The state government has assured to the High Court of Meghalaya that the ‘needful’ will be done by the next date of hearing regarding the pending salary of municipal employees for three months (March, April and May).
A petition moved by the Shillong Municipal employees was heard by the court via video conferencing on Friday.
The counsel for the government sought some time to take instruction and file affidavit in reply, if necessary. The counsel also assured the court that the needful will be done by the next date of hearing.
In this context, the court said the matter will be heard on July 2.
