NGOs, villagers condemn rape, murder of woman

NONGSTOIN: The rape and murder of a 40-year-old woman from Nongkroh forced various NGOs and residents of the village to raise their voices and protest against the incident.
A rally was organised by the women’s organisation of Rambrai, United Hynniewtrep Movement, Hynniewtrep Youth Council, FKJGP, KSU, Northeast Network and the residents of Rambrai to condemn the brutal murder of the 40-year-old by 24-year-old Kaldinus Syiem.
It may be mentioned that, on the morning of June 6, the woman with blood on her body was found lying on the road at Nongkroh village.
NGOs and villagers appealed for stringent punishment against the accused for the heinous crime.
