Dorbar shnong bars outside traders at Nongjri market

SHILLONG: The Dorbar shnong of Nongjri in South West Khasi Hills has informed the public that it has decided to not allow people from outside the village to trade at Nongjri market without getting permission from the Dorbar shnong.

Besides restricting people from outside the village, the Dorbar shnong has also barred people from outside the state to trade anywhere in Nongjri in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The prohibitions were issued, keeping in mind the insecurity that the people have due to the COVID-19 pandemic”, the Dorbar shnong.
