GUWAHATI: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has strongly condemned the reported killing of Indian Army officer and two jawans by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at Galwan Valley under the Ladakh UT region on Monday night.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, AAPSU said Arunachal Pradesh and the union stood with the brave jawans in this moment of grief.

“We take strong exception to the repeated incursions into the Indian side and provocations carried out by the Chinese PLA along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and other areas,” AAPSU president, Hawa Bagang, said.

“Since the last few months, the Chinese armies have reportedly been carrying out incursions and other activities along the LAC. We strongly urge the Union government to take extra vigil along the stretch of LAC across the state as there is every possibility of incursions in our state as well,” Bagang said.

“Despite diplomatic talks with the Chinese and official engagements with the PLA, our troops deployed at the border should be ever vigilant as the Chinese have a history of breaking trust to further their selfish gains,” he said.

“There have been calls from some sections for boycott of Chinese goods, services and products. In view of rising unprovoked hostilities along the border by the Chinese government, we are of the view that the time has come for economical and social boycott to be carried out across the country,” he added.
