SHILLONG: Several residents, who were to reach Shillong on Friday, had a harrowing time at Byrnihat as they had to wait for long hours for COVID-19 testing.
Some of them had to wait for two hours as the kit for blood test was not available. Later, after reaching Polo area, there was further delay as those who were authorised to brief the visitors did not provide proper information.
An affected individual also informed that in the absence of institutional quarantine, his family had to opt for paid quarantine facility in a hotel.
They have to wait for two days for the test results and the hotel expenses are additional burden for the family.
