TURA: Alleging shortage of staff at the Chibinang Branch of the State Bank of India (SBI), a social activist from the plain belt region of West Garo Hills has demanded recruitment of more staff at the branch. In a statement issued here on Monday, activist Ishraful Hoque informed that the general public from the area are facing problems due to insufficient staff in the bank. “Customers of the branch are having a hard time as there is only one Cashier and Accountant who cannot cater to the needs of the customers of such a large area. Many people especially from the hilly areas are leaving their household works behind for official work at the bank with no guarantee that it will be completed in one visit. This has led to wastage of people’s time and money,” Hoque said. While appreciating the efforts of the bank staff for trying to do their best to serve the customers, Hoque urged the authorities to appoint more staff at the branch to ease the problems being face by the people. |
