Bollywood lauds COVID-19 warriors on National Doctor’s Day

Today is the birth anniversary of legendary medical practitioner Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, celebrated all over India as National Doctor’s Day. On the occasion, Bollywood celebrities took to social media to laud the efforts of doctors and other medical workers who have been fighting incessantly on the frontline in our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Salman Khan tweeted: “Aaj #DoctorsDay hai, meri taraf se saare doctors ko dil se shukriya. Aapke dedication, or aapke sacrifices k liye! (Today is Doctor’s Day. A heartfelt thank you to all the doctors on my behalf for their dedication and sacrifice.) Thank you for being the strongest pillars of our country in this pandemic!”
Vicky Kaushal shared a video message especially dedicated to young resident doctors. In the video, the actor says: “We are always very grateful to the doctors but during these difficult times of COVID-19, we are even more grateful to the doctors and medical workers. Along with the other frontline workers, they are the soldiers in this war against this pandemic. A special shoutout to our young resident doctors who are probably facing the biggest challenge of their life just when they are starting the journey of their medical careers. We understand how difficult is the situation for you all. We applaud you, we thank you and we know that today’s young resident doctors are tomorrow’s superstars.”
Disha Patani shared: “Heartfelt gratitude to all doctors, medical professionals and frontline workers for their dedicated and selfless service during these challenging times. During this pandemic, they have been risking their lives to help others. Thank you for keeping us safe. #DoctorsDay.”
Randeep Hooda posted: “A mask a day keeps the doctor away .. let’s help our frontline warriors who are relentless in their fight to protect us by taking all precautions and reduce the load on them .. to our doctors on #DoctorsDay .. Salute!”
“It’s National Doctors Day. And it’s a day truly worth celebrating. Let’s honour these brave human beings who have committed and dedicated to fight for us on the COVID-19 frontline. Thank you for your service,” wrote Sonali Bendre on Twitter.
Nimrat Kaur posted: “On #NationalDoctorsDay2020 eternally grateful to all the gallant and selfless doctors who’ve put their welfare and safety on the line to ensure ours. The world as we know it today can’t possibly function without their relentless service and sacrifice. #Salute.”
Singer Jasleen Royal shared: “A big heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and frontline health workers for their hard work. #NationalDoctorsDay.”
Singer Guru Randhawa tweeted: “Wishing all the doctors in the world a very happy #DoctorsDay. Thank you for everything.”
Lyricist Manoj Muntashir wrote: “Salute to the heros in white. #DoctorsDay.”
Meanwhile, celebs like Vidya Balan, Ali Fazal, Dia Mirza, Sonakshi Sinha, Vir Das and Richa Chadha concluded their initiative of sending Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits to hospitals across the country on Doctor’s Day.
Over 20,000 kits have been donated to more than 50 hospitals in different cities across the country in an initiative inspired by Manish Mundra and spearheaded by ace lensperson Atul Kasbekar.(IANS)
