Man goes missing during fishing trip

NONGSTOIN: An elderly man identified as Shondar Diengdoh (60) of Laitnamlang, Pariong in West Khasi Hills, has reportedly gone missing since Tuesday. The family members informed that he was out fishing but did not return back.
Headman of Laitnamlang said that Shondar went for fishing at Thwei Iaplani in Kynshi River on Tuesday morning but has not returned home.
Feeling suspicious, the family reported the matter to the village headman seeking help. The headman informed that some people saw a body in the river on Tuesday and reported it to him.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, the villagers along with the family conducted a search along the Kynshi River, however, they did not find the body.
An FIR was registered on Wednesday evening.
