SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Mawprem Unit on Tuesday apprehended 50 non-local labourers at Lower Mawprem.
In a statement issued here, the union urged the house owners to not allow non-tribals to work in view of the COVID-19 fear.
The KSU Mawprem Circle met the headmen of Lower Mawprem, Upper Mawprem, Mawbah, Dymmiew, Lumkshaid and Lama Villa.
In their discussion, the KSU Mawprem Circle said that besides tackling influx, disallowing non-local labourers will prevent the spread of COVID-19.
