MLA urges CM to boost testing

SHILLONG: Jirang MLA, Sosthenes Sohtun, has urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to ensure targeted surveillance programme in Ri Bhoi so that people working in different sectors and residents can be randomly screened and tested.
In the letter to the chief minister, Sohtun said such activities should be done to avert any possibility of community spreading and identify individuals with
)asymptomatic, symptomatic and mild symptom, who cannot be easily identified at an early stage.
Stating about the incessant spike in COVID-19 cases in Assam, he said extra precautions should be taken in under-lockdown places of the state bordering Assam.
