PART II
Last time Gobo went to candy land and he had an amazing time there with the sugar syrup pouring down from the clouds and houses made up of chocolate.
This time Gobo is on his way to Honeyland. Let us see what surprises us there!
The toadstool was flying smoothly in the sky with its huge white wings flapping gently. Gobo was recalling the lovely time he had had in Candyland. He was resting on his comfy bed and having an apple pie and drinking orangeade. The weather was pleasant and Gobo was eagerly waiting for a glimpse of Honeyland.
But soon his eagerness was over. He was slowly coming down and down and down and there he was in the woods of Honeyland! He ordered his toadstool to go to a corner and settle itself.
Everything was beautiful as he had expected it to be. But he did not know that soon he would be having some great adventures! He could not understand that why were the house far away shining.
He started walking through the woods. After going a little way, he was tired. So he decided to rest on a large rock. But as he sat there, the rock burst and huge amount of honey flew out of it! He was astounded.
Poor Gobo….. His pant became very sticky. As he walked, honey dripped out of his pant. He thought that what would the folks here think about him!
No! He was quite wrong. It was all normal in Honeyland!
Soon he understood that why the houses were shining. All the houses were coated with honey. We can say that it was honeyed instead of painted!
Suddenly his eyes fell upon a river. It was an extraordinary one! Honey was flowing there instead of water. All the folks were busy collecting honey in their buckets. Some were even washing their clothes! Gobo was very surprised.
All of a sudden Gobo felt hungry. Nearby, he saw an apple tree so he plucked an apple from the tree and took a bite and Hey presto! Honey flew out of it and spoilt his dress. Why was it always Gobo!
Gobo thought that this place was horrible so he wanted to go to some other land. But Gobo could not remember where he left his toadstool. Gobo was scared. Now what would he do?
Then an idea struck him. He thought that for a few days he could stay in this land and look for his toadstool and resume his journey.
Therefore, he went to look for a house where he could spend some days. Suddenly, he heard that an elf was giving his house for rent. So he went to him and requested, “Oh! Hello! I am Gobo. You see that I don’t have enough money but I need a house to live in. so kindly can you give me this house for rent. I will live for few days and go away.”
As the elf was very generous, he considered Gobo’s request. Gobo was very happy. Suddenly the next morning, Gobo heard the shouting of a pixie, “Hey everyone! Can you all see that our river is drying up?”
“Oh! We need to do something!”
“But how it’s drying up?”
Shrieks could be heard from all over the place. Even Gobo was shocked. He thought that how a river of honey could dry up? He meant to find out. Two days went by and every morning the river would be drier than before.
Gobo realised that something was happening at night. So that night when all the folks were snoring loudly, Gobo was awake. He stealthily crept out of the house. He saw a shadow. Gobo could see many shadows dancing in the moonlight. He was startled.
Who were these people? Where had they come from?
Suddenly he realised that they were goblins! Then he heard them whispering “Hey Friends! Come on! Collect the honey as fast as you can. We need to reach the Bitter gourd land.”
Now Gobo understood that they had come from the Bitter gourd land and were stealing the honey. They were all busy collecting honey in huge jars. But how were they taking it?
Gobo stood and waited. At last one of the goblins blew a whistle and suddenly a large carpet zoomed through the sky! All the goblins placed the jars on the carpet and they sat and shouted, “Carpet! Take me to the Bitter gourd land!”
At that moment it struck Gobo that where he had left his toadstool and quickly ran to the woods and came to a corner. There was the giant toadstool waiting for him. Gobo rushed inside and began to look for a button labelled ‘Bitter gourd land’. He found it and pressed it.
Soon Gobo was flying away to the Bitter gourd land and was determined to catch the thieves. In a short time Gobo landed in the Bitter gourd land. He did not like the smell of this land and wanted to run away. Now Gobo started hunting for those naughty goblins.
Gobo heard those naughty voices again. Yes! They were the goblins. He cautiously started towards that direction and saw everything as it was early in the morning. He was surprised to find that the goblins were selling those jars of honey to a nasty looking shopkeeper!
Now Gobo knew the reason behind the mystery of the drying river so he quickly flew off to Honeyland and brought the policemen. They had just reached on time. As the goblins were just about to leave, the policemen along with Gobo ran and caught hold of them.
The goblins were very strong and struggled hard to run away but the policemen were not less. They took the goblins back to Honeyland and put them in prison.
Everyone in Honeyland soon came to know how Gobo saved the river. Everyone cheered for Gobo and thanked him. They gave Gobo a huge pot of honey.
Now as Gobo had his toadstool he could go and explore some other land. So Gobo is relishing his yummy honey and flying to… It’s a secret.
