5 die of COVID-19 in Assam on Wednesday

GUWAHATI: Five more COVID-19 patients have died due to COVID-19 in Assam so far on Wednesday taking the death in the state to 21.

Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Safikul Rahman (60) of Hedayetpur in Guwahati, Ramani Majumdar (60) of Patacharkuchi, Barpeta, Utpal Kumar Chaliha (75) of Kahilipara, Hariprasad Mandal (68) of Lalganesh, Guwahati had died due to COVID-19 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

On the other hand, Jitendra Prasad (30) with features of Septicaemia in shock with history of herbal medication, reportedly died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, Sharma mentioned in a tweet.

“My heartfelt condolences to families and relatives of four more victims of #COVID19. These are trying times, and we all must adhere to guidelines being repeatedly given – wearing mask, social distance and not going out unless very important,” tweeted the heath minister.
