NONGPOH: Acting on a tip-off, the Ri Bhoi Police, on Wednesday, apprehended one motorcycle (sans registration number) while it was heading towards Shillong form Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi.
On enquiring, it was discerned that the rider and pillion rider were carrying heroin inside a soap case in a backpack.
The rider identified as Shanborlang Khongwir (28), hailing from Riatsamthiah, Shillong, and the pillion rider, Bankerlang Lyngdoh (27), from Pahamsyiem village in Ri Bhoi, have been arrested.
A case has been registered against them at Byrnihat Police Outpost.
