MAWKYRWAT: The Khasi Student’s Union (KSU), Mawkyrwat Circle, on Wednesday closed down the offices of the Suzuki Rani Motor, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) as well as the post office Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, for not complying with the government holiday of Behdeinkhlam.
Publicity secretary of the KSU, Mawkyrwat Circle, Amos Kharjahrin, said the decision of the union to send its members to close down these offices is because they do not respect government-declared state holiday.  “This is an insult to the Jaitbynriew,” Kharjahrin said.
The union has also requested the offices in Mawkyrwat to strictly adhere to the state holidays from now onwards.
