Notification against protocol violation, road damage

TURA: In pursuance of the notification issued by the Government of Meghalaya, Law Department and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 read with Regulation 20 (1) of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulation, 2020, the Government of Meghalaya has notified the District Magistrate, all Executive Magistrates and Officers of the rank of Sub-Inspector and above of the Meghalaya Police as Designated Officers under Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulation, 2020 to impose penalty on any person or organization if found violating any provision of the regulations or any orders issued by the Government under the regulations.

This was informed by the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, Tura.

Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads), Tura North Division, Tura has informed the general public and road users that due to heavy rain on 10th July, 2020, the road formation at 9th Km of P A Sangma Road has been badly damaged. Hence, the road portion from Holy Cross junction to AMPT road is hereby closed for heavy vehicles with immediate effect untill further orders. However, light vehicles are allowed to ply on this section of the road.
